lately i’ve been busy adding things i’m grateful for to my thankfulness jar, loving on my new cat queen maalika, taking bathroom selfies to show off my purple marc jacobs lipgloss, adding marion barry to my collage wall and losing my LIFE at the J. COLE concert.
p.s. j. cole and i had several moments while he was performing. clearly, our love is real.
what do you do when you walk into a well-decorated abode? take pictures, of course. photographer todd selby is a fashion and interior design photographer who snaps pictures of creative people’s homes and workplaces for his blog, the selby. i can’t wait to pick up his book the selby is in your place. all pics via the selby.
over the past two weeks, i pulled out an old sundress and paired it with my new satchel from morocco (thx christian!), decided not to paint my walls (for now) and practiced pulling in color from my collage wall, was gifted a new pair of sunglasses from my sis delonya, and enjoyed summer salad mondays with my homie allison.
btw, that salad was ah-mazing! recipe: mixed greens, brie, radish, sliced grapefruit, cucumber, smoked salmon, and honey balsamic dressing.

last week i was super sad that i missed my friend margo’s birthday party (insert sad face and birthday hat),
howled stared at the moon, ran into my very stylish homie jessica at the metro (her throwback ankh medallion is everything!), gave myself a manicure with sephora’s matte top coat, enjoyed happy hour with kdj and cma, cheered for my co-worker daryl at eatonville’s chocolate cake contest (btw, lucifer’s revenge in the best chocolate cake ever!), was inspired by my collage wall at work, and dusted off the tried and true tucker for target dress that i wear as a tunic. btw, this manicure has me waving at random people–not because i’m friendly, but to get a quick glimpse at my nails. vain, i know…smh
hope you had a good weekend!
the past two weeks have been really busy. despite studying for yet another bar exam, i found time to teach niah how to crochet, sit beside the flyest-elder-ever in church, finish my black circle scarf, create a new collage wall, hang out in rock creek park (more pics below), and eat pancakes with my bff kmmo. whew, i’m tired.
have a good weekend!
